Innes Bar Inverness Winter Darts League Report

November 20, 2019

The preliminary round matches in the Inverness Supreme Cup all went pretty much to form with no giant-killing acts in these early round matches.

The Supreme Cup is the only competition that all league teams compete in at eight a side and is still only the best of three legs of 501.

Portland A, the holders for the past two years, moved past SoBar Pirates quite easily, taking the match 11-1.  Portland players Kevin Wilson and Kevin Maclean had a 180 and a 107 checkout respectively while Kyle Bower had a 110 checkout for the Pirates.

Still Game also took their match 11-1 as they disposed of 147 Buddies despite a 180 from Buddies skipper Dave Morrison and Innes Power had a fine 10-2 victory over Raigmore Motel.  Steve McCluskey from the Power had a 15 dart leg and his team captain Don Taylor checked out on 109.

Tarradale won their match 8-4 against Blazin 81 with Gary Gunn hitting a maximum and Dave Fraser recording a 15 dart leg for the winning side.

In the B League derby match Innes Spikeys defeated Innes X 9-3 with Colin Jamieson hitting a 180 for the Spikeys.

Canteen players George Smith and Donnie Maclean Sr both hit maximums in their teams’ 7-5 win over Thistle Inn and finally Blacksmiths ended the hopes of British Legion, winning 7-1.

It’s back to league action tonight with the following fixtures:

A League – Innes Bar C v Portland A, East End Arrows v Tarradale, Jackos v Still Game, Battlefield Bullies v Innes Power

B League – Innes Spikeys v Blacksmiths, 147 Buddies v Thistle Inn, Castle Street Elite v British Legion
